Governor Inslee constantly makes elusive and factually incorrect statements, and the local media fails to uphold its responsibility to point them out to the public (and to Inslee).  Consider a few of Governor Zero’s whoppers: his defense for having Washington State taxpayers fund security for his failed presidential campaign; him claiming ignorance of the forceful takeover of six city blocks (and a Seattle police precinct) by protestors; to his stubborn refusal to call a much needed (and legally required) special legislative session. In each of these instances – and many more – the Washington State media fails to hold the governor accountable for his misleading comments. Since there are no consequences for providing evasive responses and fabricating false scenarios to legitimate questions and concerns, Inslee will continue to make them. As a result, the public is not served, and our democracy suffers. (Shift Article)

Maybe we should promote Jay Inslee from Governor Zero to “Governor 50”, based on  the well-respected CATO Institute’s biennial review of the nation’s governors and their fiscal policies.  Not surprisingly, Governor Inslee was ranked dead last, but even worse there was considerable distance between him and #49 on the list, Oregon’s Kate Brown (proving that those of us in the Pacific Northwest have much to learn about picking governors).  CATO assigned scores to each governor for how they have managed their fiscal responsibilities.  New Hampshire’s Governor Chris Sununu received a 75 score and Iowa’s Kim Reynolds earned a 71.  The grades slowly cascaded down to the three governors who received the think tank’s lowest rankings:  Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker obtaining a 30 score, Brown a 29, and our own Jay Inslee nearly fell off the charts with a 19 score.  In explaining Inslee’s incredibly poor ranking, a CATO spokesperson said, “On taxes and spending, Jay Inslee has been the worst governor in the United States for many years. It’s really unfortunate for Washington’s economy and for its citizens.” (CATO Institute’s Fiscal Policy Report Card)

Democrat Governor Jay Inslee and his “green” friends want to cripple Washington’s hydroelectric power system.  Inslee and his wealthy urban campaign supporters in the environmental community continue their efforts to remove the Snake River dams (and their clean energy) from Washington State’s Southeast corner. They are doing this despite a recent federal government study that determined that removing the four dams would destabilize the power grid, increase overall greenhouse emissions, and more than double the risk of regional power outages. Also recent migration counts at the dams reveal that the salmon population is significantly growing.  But, since Governor Inslee didn’t get his way, his environmental allies will keep using the court system to try and delay progress at the dams.
