The campaign for Seattle City Attorney reveals there is a growing division within the Washington State Democrat Party, and we can fully expect current top Democrat elected officials to hide from taking a stand.  While two former Democrat governors (Gary Locke and Christine Gregoire) came out in support of moderate candidate Ann Davison for Seattle City Attorney, Washington State Democrat Party Chair Tina Podlodowski posted a supportive tweet for her radical opponent Nicole Thomas-Kennedy.  Other party activists slammed the two former governors as out of touch for not supporting the most left-wing candidate.

We can fully expect Governor Jay Inslee, Attorney General Bob Ferguson, King County Executive Dow Constantine, and Lands Commissioner Hilary Franz to repeat their performance from 2020 when they all performed disappearing acts instead of taking a stand to either support or condemn the violent acts (including a mass murder attempt against Seattle police personnel) being committed by left-wing activists. We can safely assume that the state’s top Democrat political leaders/governor wannabes will again hide and refuse to either support or condemn the actions of their party’s leaders who support the radical and violent views of Thomas-Kennedy.  (Click to read full Shift Article)

In a podcast from “The Divide”, Brandi Kruse is the only mainstream reporter willing to point out the obvious division within the Washington State Democrat Party over the radical anti-public safety direction Chair Tina Podlodowski has taken the party in the Seattle City Attorney’s race.  As has been pointed out by Shift, Chair Podlodowski’s tweet in support of the extremist Nicole Thomas-Kennedy (NTK) was in sharp contrast to the support two former Democrat governors Gary Locke and Christine Gregoire gave to NTK’s far more moderate opponent Ann Davison.  Kruse states, “The Chair of the Washington State Democrat party is choosing to side with the “abolitionist” Nicole Thomas-Kennedy over two former Democrat governors is significant, it is profound.”  After repeating many of the radical tweets posted by NTK, Kruse asks the legitimate question that needs to be answered by all current Democrat elected officials and local candidates currently supported by the State Democrat Party, “Does the State Democrat Party believe the tweets Nicole Thomas-Kennedy has sent very recently reflect the values that they support?” (Facebook post of a segment from The Divide podcast, Shift, NTK4Crime website, and Washington State Democrat Party list of local level candidates it has endorsed)

In the latest example of partisan politics overriding the health and well-being of Washington State residents, Governor Jay Inslee’s vaccine mandate exempts 45,000 home health care workers who just happen to be represented by the powerful Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which just happens to donate millions of dollars every election cycle to liberal local and state candidates across Washington (like their buddy in charge of all decisions currently allowed to be made in Washington State, Jay Inslee).  So while a state wildlife officer, who rarely has any contact with a member of the public, could lose his job due to Governor Inslee’s vaccine mandate, a state employee whose sole job is to interact and come in close contact with those most vulnerable to COVID (i.e. seniors and those with respiratory problems) can keep their job without obtaining a vaccine.  This privilege is granted to them simply because they are represented by the powerful and wealthy SEIU, which has been bankrolling Inslee’s career dating to his days in Congress.

This is just the latest divisive and controversial action taken by Governor Inslee, who has repeatedly failed to unify the state to combat the spread of COVID.  One has to ask, if the legislature was allowed to resume its constitutional role as the branch of government which writes and passes laws, would Democrat lawmakers have voted to allow this grand example of hypocrisy and unfairness to take place? Once again, a significant failure within the Inslee Administration will likely end up costing Washington State taxpayers millions of dollars.  A man with autism wandered away from the Rainier School in Pierce County in early 2020, and is now presumed dead.  Officials at the school, which is operated by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, were well aware of the man’s tendency to leave the school, yet they failed to alter his supervision, which his family claims allowed him to disappear.  A financial settlement is currently being sought by the man’s family.  Previously, in 2017, the Rainier School failed to take seriously the medical condition of another student, who subsequently died due to poor treatment.  The advocacy organization, Disability Rights Washington, is calling for the immediate closure of the Rainier School due to repeated acts of neglect by administrators and staff. Certainly this will be a topic at Jay Inslee’s next press conference/PR stunt, right? (KING5 News)

The public safety crisis in Seattle is about to become even worse, as some 354 individuals employed by the police department have yet to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID, and are at risk of losing their positions on October 18^th, in accordance with lame-duck Mayor Jenny Durkan’s vaccine mandate for all City of Seattle employees.  Some 237 of these Seattle Police Department employees are patrol officers, and 117 are non-uniformed officers or administration.  On top of the 300 officers who have already left the department in the past year due to lack of support from the city’s elected officials, these departures – if forced by Durkan’s non-scientific mandates – will result in a severe police officer shortage in Seattle.

This has caused the department to move to “Stage 3”, requiring all sworn personnel to be in uniform and ready to deploy from one of the five department precincts starting October 13^th.  This is a really good time to be a criminal in Seattle, as Mayor Durkan counts down the number of days before she can wash her hands of the mess she only made worse during her single dismal term in office. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy confirmed that the company will continue to grow in the Puget Sound region, but they will do it outside of Seattle. Citing the difficulties the company has had with the radical policies and opinions expressed by Seattle’s radical elected officials, Jassy said most of the company’s growth will occur in Bellevue and that the company will look towards other Puget Sound communities to open facilities as well. Small Seattle landlords say the city’s latest restrictions on rental agreements make it unprofitable to manage properties, and that they are having difficulties finding buyers who are willing to continue renting, since so few rational business people want to own more rental units in Seattle.  Many people own and operate rental units as a way to provide retirement income and these people believe the city’s restrictions requiring landlords to inform renters of rate increases six months in advance and requiring them to pay for the moving costs of some tenants who cannot afford a rate increase, is making it impossible to make the income they need to make renting worthwhile.  Not only are the city restrictions forcing them out of the rental market, but they are also forced to sell the properties to those who want to use it as their primary residence, thus taking the property out of the rental market and raising prices for future renters. A Spokane Fire Department battalion chief has decided to quit his position instead of being fired for not obtaining the COVID vaccine.  Battalion Chief David Heizer was granted a religious exemption by the city but since the Spokane Fire Department cannot accommodate him with a position that does not interact with the public, so he decided to retire on October 16^th instead of being fired on October 18^th. In a released statement, a spokesman for the city wrote, “We are saddened to see some choose to leave the department.  They have a difficult choice under the Governor’s mandate to become fully vaccinated or not. We respect their choice.” (YakTriNews)

The Dayton School Board was forced to end its regular in-person meeting due to two protestors who refused to wear a facemask, which is in conflict with Governor Inslee’s mask mandate. The school district superintendent for the small Southwest Washington community (about 20 miles East of Walla Walla) has also decided that all future board meetings will be held via Zoom, as long as the state’s mask mandate is in place.
