WATCH JAY INSLEE PROUDLY DEFEND HIS GREEN AGENDA

A REPORTER GETS CLOSE TO INSLEE, FORCING HIM TO HIDE BEHIND A POLE, THEN HIS STAFF, TO ESCAPE QUESTIONS

You might think, based on his laughable presidential campaign and his ever-increasing speaking junkets around the world, that Governor Jay Inslee takes every opportunity he can to talk about his environmental agenda. If so, that means you missed the KING 5 investigative report – unfortunately buried over the weekend – that reveals under our fake-green governor, Washington state leads the way only in missing almost every green energy goal set on his watch.

You can click here to watch Governor Inslee proudly slide behind a pole to escape the reporter and then refuse to answer basic questions about his own environmental policies. You can then decide if you are “confused,” like the staff contends the reporter was, about whether he agreed he would “sit down and do an interview” with a reporter that doesn’t meet his staff’s approval.

Finally, you can read on to better understand the basics of journalism, Jay Inslee-style, as the governor’s flack (himself a former supposedly unbiased mainstream journalist) tells KING 5 that they cannot speak with the governor as he had agreed because “it sounds like your focus is on a small piece of the policy pie, not the governor’s whole strategy” here… KING 5.

FARMERS ARE STILL WAITING FOR ECOLOGY DEPARTMENT TO START FOLLOWING THE LAW

The state’s leading agriculture advocates are nothing if not persistent, as they continue to push Governor Jay Inslee’s administration to follow the carbon tax law that the administration itself wrote. That’s the takeaway from Center Square’s report that the “Washington Farm Bureau is urging state lawmakers to address a multi-million-dollar dispute with the Department of Ecology over a tax exemption for fuels used for agricultural purposes.”

The Farm Bureau is forced to continue fighting the state to follow the law because the Department of Ecology invented “an arbitrary exemption process inconsistent with its statutory obligations.” Read on to see how Ecology could “easily resolve any unjust costs imposed on the transport of agricultural products by partnering with agriculture to reopen the statute” if they wanted to here… Center Square.

ACTIVISTS DEMAND BURIEN “CUT TIES” WITH GROUP HELPING THE HOMELESS, BECAUSE KEEPING THEM ON THE STREETS IS BETTER

It seems strange that some people would actually prefer that the homeless continue to sleep outside rather than being provided another option just because that other option might violate their government-first ideology. That’s the story reported on by MyNorthwest as a “group of several Burien residents gathered on Saturday night to speak out against the city’s new ‘Unlawful Public Camping’ ordinance.”

You can see from the demands how unserious the far-Left activists are, as they insist the public must not just provide everyone free housing options, but “specifically one not under the Sea-Tac flight path,” as well as “food assistance to all who need it,” and that the city “cut ties with the More We Love” because the group provides the homeless with housing options not dependent on the government. You can see how the debate is really “about addressing the drug problem on the streets” here… MyNorthwest.

MORE FOREIGN COMPANIES WANT TO PUT WINDMILLS IN EASTERN WASHINGTON, WHERE THEY CAN’T SEE THEM

Shift has provided regular updates on the controversial proposed Horse Heaven Hills wind and solar project outside the Tri-Cities, where Puget Sound activists want their Benton County non-neighbors to have a beautiful view of a string of windmills covering the distance from Seattle to Tacoma. Now we learn from Capital Press that another foreign company wants to mess up views far from home, as “France’s national energy utility is seeking a five-year extension of its permit to put 31 windmills on farmland north of Ellensburg.”

The foreign nationals “received approval from then-Gov. Christine Gregoire for the Desert Claim wind project in 2010,” but despite the massive government intervention by Governor Jay Inslee to give preferences to green energy companies, economics means “(C)onstruction has not started, and the permit to finish the project is expiring.” Read on to learn that science is not in the project’s favor, as “wind projects in Washington typically have relatively low outputs” here… ShiftCapital Press.

MEDIA PROVIDES UNBIASED COVERAGE OF SHERIFF FORTNEY - AFTER ELECTION

Now that the election is over, some local media are providing an outgoing elected official access to some unbiased coverage. That the accusation apparent from a KIRO Newsradio reports about “(S)trong words from Snohomish County Sheriff Adam Fortney after his opponent declared victory in last week’s election.”

The sheriff took to Facebook to set the record straight, where he “accused his opponent Susanna Johnson of character assassination– saying ‘The saddest thing to me about this entire year is that my opponent won this race by convincing enough of our public that I am a racist.’” The sheriff had a lengthy dispute with the county’s largest media outlet, the Herald, which seemingly worked with the Johnson campaign and the Democrat Party to deliver a slight election victory to the challenger here… KIRO 7.

THIS WEEK'S NEWSMAKER INTERVIEW

With the 2023 elections concluded, we here at Shift WA are initiating our 2024 election coverage by highlighting former Congressman Dave Reichert, the GOP candidate vying for the position of Governor in Washington State. Having previously served as King County Sheriff and seven terms as the 8th District Congressman, Reichert aims to break the Republican Party’s four-decade absence from the Governor’s Mansion. In our Newsmaker Interview, he addressed key issues such as public safety, the state’s drug overdose crisis, soaring fuel prices attributed to Democratic policies, homelessness, and Governor Inslee’s perceived misuse of emergency powers.
