AG BOB FERGUSON HAS TO RUN FOR GOVERNOR AFTER SHOWING COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR STATE CAMPAIGN FINANCE LAWS HE IS SUPPOSED TO ENFORCE AS AG

FERGUSON JUMPS ON CAMPAIGN LOOPHOLE TO HIDE DONOR NAMES FROM THE PUBLIC WHILE “EXPLORING” FOLLOWING LAW IN FUTURE

Attorney General Bob Ferguson may still be “exploring” whether to run for governor (as Shift has covered), but his campaign legal beagles have evidently found that excuse handy to find a loophole big enough to shove more than a million secret dollars through. And it came just in time, with the state’s Public Disclosure Commission closing the “Fergie Loophole” today according to the Seattle Times.

The Times notes that “Attorney General Bob Ferguson has shifted more than $1.2 million in surplus campaign money to his 2024 gubernatorial bid — getting ahead of a ruling placing new limits on such transfers.” Of course, “Bobbie Sue” promises to follow the rules going forward now that he has drained his secret slush fund in recent weeks after receiving advance word of Governor Inslee’s retirement announcement. You can read more about why the AG has to leave the office, since he cannot be counted on to follow campaign finance laws his office enforces, here… Shift, Seattle Times.

DEMOCRATS KNOW BEST – FOR THEM, AND FOR YOU

Former gubernatorial candidate and Seattle Port Commissioner Bill Bryant has been on the receiving end of Democrat efforts to help him, so he knows of what he writes in this Inlander piece where he points out that “ arrogance and contempt for local communities and the voting public were on full display during this recent legislative session in Olympia.” You can read more about how Democrats don’t trust you, or your local elected officials, to make your own decisions here… Inlander.

APPARENTLY SPI REYKDAL HAD BEEN TOLD MATH WOULDN’T BE ON THE TEST, AS HE CAN’T ACCOUNT FOR FEDERAL MONEY

Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal has, as Shift has written, a fairly high opinion of himself. Evidently it is so high that he feels that financial rules written for others don’t really apply to his education fiefdom.

At least that’s the message from the Seattle Times reporting that “Washington’s education department hasn’t adequately tracked how schools are spending hundreds of millions in federal aid earmarked for pandemic learning loss, according to an audit ordered by state lawmakers.” Indeed, one lawmaker from SPI Reykdal’s own Democrat Party “found it ‘disturbing’ that as of last September, 74% of districts’ federal aid expenditures were documented in a category called “’other.’” You can read how fond of “other” Reykdal was by reading here… Shift, Seattle Times

BUT FERGUSON CAN COUNT ON CORPORATE CHECKS BEING WASHED THROUGH STATE DEMOCRAT PARTY, LIKE LAST TIME

Bob Ferguson likes to make a big point in his never-ending fundraising emails that he doesn’t “accept donations from large corporations.” Of course, he doesn’t define “large”, nor explain why “large” union money is really acceptable, but not the same from businesses of a certain size.  The AG even tries to make his email donors feel special, by claiming that “I rely on individual grassroots supporters giving $25 or $50 at a time.”

But, Bob Ferguson knows that is not true.  His largest contributions in recent campaigns have come from transfers from previous campaigns with funding provided by the State Democrat Party and the Democrat Attorney General Association. And that’s where the corporate money goes, before it flows into his campaign. But if you want more gaslighting about campaign money, read here… Ferguson campaign email.

HILARY FRANZ CAN’T BE BOTHERED FOR REASONS TO SUPPORT HER CAMPAIGN, BUT SHE WILL BE BOLD!

Lands Commissioner Hilary Franz has actually declared she is running for Governor, so unlike Explorer Bob Ferguson, she has eyes on one prize. So much so that in her latest fundraising email, she doesn’t actually provide any reason for giving her money. But you can read about her being bold here… Franz campaign email.
