“Confidence” man Inslee doesn’t exactly inspire confidence

Jay Inslee recently sent out an email to supporters explaining how he will approach the 2016 legislative session. His email, titled “A state of confidence” and largely a mash-up of his widely panned State of the State address from earlier this month, listed four objectives he is confident he would accomplish.

Well, in the spirit of our “green” governor’s email, we would like to propose four objectives (being pushed by Inslee) that we are confident that Inslee is wrong about being confident in.

  1. Raising taxes, notably imposing a state income tax. When will he ever learn?

  1. Raising energy prices via a carbon rule through executive action, after failing to even get Democrats in the state House to support his plans. Good luck with the legality of that one…

  1. Raising the minimum wage to $13-plus dollars per hour. Yeah, lawmakers are gonna pass that… right after they pass his cap-and-tax scheme.

  1. Knuckling under to his big-bucks campaign donors at the Washington Education Association (WEA) by refusing to take a position on public charter schools. Let’s face it, Inslee’s not committed to improving education in our state for all students, and that’s frustrating.
