More problems have popped up since the Washington Department of Transportation (WSDOT) launched the Interstate 405 tolling scheme three weeks ago. A total of 88 drivers were double-charged for trips they took on the I-405 express toll lanes.
Reminiscent of the problem that arose with our state’s Obamacare exchange, WSDOT blamed the double charge on a technical “glitch” stemming from “processing duplicate vehicle information.” Adding insult to injury, WSDOT also says it could take 6 to 12 months to remove the extra charges.
But, that’s not the only “glitch” that has impacted I-405 drivers recently. Over the weekend, signs on I-405 confused drivers by indicating that vehicles needed three people to be able to drive free in the HOV lane.
These are just more examples to add to WSDOT’s growing list of incompetent offenses.
