Mainstream media update: Democrats’ reward from judge is deliberately racist re-districting plan and open legislative seats in Central WA

Democrats' Gerrymandering Gambit: Turning Racism Claims into Redistricting Reality

Democrats have failed to win legislative seats in Central Washington for decades, blaming their electoral failure on racism and not their policy failures. Fortunately, they found a judge that agreed with them. And, as a result, Democrats now have legislative lines drawn to specifically include more Democrats who will only vote in presidential election years.

If you ask Democrats, their redistricting efforts in Central Washington is all to empower Latino voters by aligning legislative elections with presidential election years, which typically see higher Latino voter turnout. But that’s not the case, according to Gloria Mendoza, who was the former mayor of Grandview in the lower Yakima Valley for a decade before losing a reelection bid last fall. From PBS:

“[Mendoza] has expressed concern about the new district. Like other Republicans, she believes the move benefits Democrats more than Latino voters. ‘It actually reduced the percentage of Hispanic voters and excised the first Hispanic Latina senator from this area,’ she said. ‘I don’t think that helped Hispanics.’”

And, according to conservative Latino voters involved in attempting to block Democrats’ gerrymandering, Mendoza is correct. They used “2021 census data to show that the new Latino voter-majority district is just over 50% Latino, compared to over 52% for the 15th Legislative District in the map drawn by the redistricting commission.”

Let’s be clear: This is just another example of Democrats have manipulated the system to gain an electoral advantage. Republican incumbents have been redistricted out of their seats, creating open seats that favor Democrats. The redistricting it’s about representation, it’s a sheer power grab. Read more at PBS.

Surprise, surprise – Inslee’s “best” just isn’t that good

Ladies and gentlemen, we have another example of the Inslee Administration in action. This time it’s a decade-long wait for new ferries, followed by jut 6 months for contractors to bud on the electric boats they’ve been pushing for years. But, hey, it’s the “best they can do.”

Washington State Ferries recently issued an invitation to bid on constructing five new hybrid-electric ferries, a long-awaited move that promises to enhance the reliability of cross-Sound ferry services. This marks the first time in over 50 years that the state will accept bids from shipyards nationwide for building its vessels. Shipbuilders have until January to submit their bids, with the contract set to be awarded in February 2025. Continue reading at The WA State Standard.

Seattle Lawyer will attempt to boot Trump off state ballot

Seattle attorney – and Democrat activist – David Vogel is spearheading an effort to remove Donald Trump from the Washington state ballot due to his recent felony convictions. According to a recent report from KTTH’s Jason Rantz, Vogel intends to use an old law (RCW 29A.68.020) that allows voters to challenge a candidate’s right to appear on the ballot if convicted of a felony. And Vogel claims to have a list of clients ready to pursue the challenge.

But Vogel’s efforts will run into a legal roadblock. This law was intended for state and local elections, not federal ones, and states cannot impose additional qualifications on federal candidates beyond those specified by the U.S. Constitution. Supreme Court rulings support that federal elections are primarily governed by federal laws. Even if this law applied, Trump’s ongoing appeals would allow him to remain on the ballot.

Vogel’s attempt to disqualify Trump also exposes Democrats’ hypocrisy. Afterall, Democrats have long fought for felons’ rights, and even celebrate Democrat State Rep. Tarra Simmons’ status as a former felon. Read Jason Rantz’s full take here.
