Seattle Times’ Biden Endorsement: The Media's Memory Lapse on Age and Insight

It’s worth reminding Shift WA readers that the Seattle Times endorsed Joe Biden in his now defunct 2024 bid for President of the United States. Although The Times may regret this editorial now, we should never forget that the paper was part of the mainstream media gaslighting voters on Biden’s mental capacity. The editorial board wrote: “Though much has been made of Biden’s age, there is not much of a difference with Trump. Biden is 81, Trump is 77.” Sure, sure.

Washington Delegation Poised to Endorse Harris – But Wait, There's Drama!

Washington’s 111-person delegation to the Democratic National Convention is expected to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s presidential nominee. They would join delegates nationwide who are rallying behind Harris following President Joe Biden’s decision to step aside, including those in states like Tennessee and Florida. However, adding a little drama to the scenario, Washington’s delegation includes two uncommitted delegates who are calling for a permanent Gaza ceasefire and an end to military funding to Israel before committing to Harris. The Democratic National Committee plans to finalize the nomination before the convention starts on August 19. Read more at the Washington State Standard.

Washington’s 2024 Primary Election: Voting Begins, Ballots Due by August 6

Voting for Washington’s 2024 primary election is underway. Voters must return ballots to drop boxes or voting centers by 8 p.m. on August 6. Mailed ballots need to be postmarked by August 6, and the USPS recommends mailing them a week prior. It’s worth noting – all 39 counties have races on their ballots, with 654 offices and 94 local measures up for decision. Voters can check ballot status and drop box locations online!
