CONGRESSWOMAN CATHY MCMORRIS RODGERS SHOCKS STATE POLITICOS
POWERFUL EASTERN WA VOICE WILL MOVE ON AFTER TWO DECADES IN THE OTHER WASHINGTON
Eastern Washington is once again going to go through a power loss due to a congressional departure, though one with more planning than when Speaker Tom Foley lost his last campaign in 1994. That’s the surprising news from Fifth District Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, who announced today she would not be seeking re-election this year, thus opening up a reliably conservative district for competition (though delusional state Democrats are already raising money with the promise they will be competitive in the 5th).
More will surely be revealed in the coming days about the next steps for one of the most powerful women in the House of Representatives… Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers’ website.
SENATOR MARKO LIIAS KNOWS WHAT KIND OF TIRES YOU NEED
Self-confidence is strong within State Senator Marko Liias, a man who has overcome his own personal bankruptcy to rise to power within the Democrat Party by advocating for the state to spend as much as possible on special interests who help him get elected. His latest policy stunt is to decide he knows what type of tires the people of Washington should put on their cars, with MyNorthwest reporting that “It’s amazing what can get passed through committee in Olympia without any public input.”
The media named Senator Liias as the one who “was able to resurrect the (tire) ban from the ashes and sneak it into a seemingly unrelated bill (SB 6304) on electric vehicles in the Senate and get it passed out of his committee No public hearing.” You can read on to find out why people who know better point out that “the (financial) estimates that we see in the bill are I guess the right word would be very optimistic” here… MyNorthwest.com.
PROFESSIONAL LEFT COMING FOR MORE TAX DOLLARS, WITH IDEA EVEN GAVIN NEWSOM VETOED FOR COSTING TOO MUCH
It’s hard to identify all the worst ideas coming out of Olympia these days, as the Democrats struggle to debate anything except the six citizen initiatives that have been certified for their action. But the Seattle Times has reported on a contender that surfaced via an Olympia protest where activists “urged lawmakers to create a separate unemployment benefits system for undocumented workers, provide health care for all low-income residents regardless of their immigration status, and support the increasing numbers of asylum-seekers.”
Even California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed a similar bill providing unemployment benefits to undocumented workers because of its high cost. You can read on to decide whether you agree with this attitude about Washington taxpayers being responsible for “destroy(ing) the world” shared by one of the activist leaders, demanding your tax dollars for their priorities: “We can’t complain why people come to our shores. We don’t destroy the world and say how did you end up here.”… Seattle Times.
