Seattle’s annual May Day protest did not disappoint highlighting the latest leftist causes, including anti-Israel demonstrations. Supposedly a march for worker’s rights, we’ve become accustomed to seeing hodge-podge of demands pertaining to the left’s latest obsessions. One protestor demonstrated just that when she told a reporter, “It’s important and stand united with all workers all around the world. Palestine, there are Starbucks workers organizing all over. Amazon workers. There are a lot of fights locally, so it’s just our day to stand together.” Apparently, just throwing in the word “Palestine” in the middle of a sentence earns you woke credits.

As KTTH Radio’s Jason Rantz pointed out in a post on X, the anti-Israel/Pro-Hamas activists present at this year’s May Day protest is just another reminder that these people are “professional activists.”

Governor Inslee is on his way out the door – but that isn’t stopping him from pushing more of his absurd green agenda on our state. His latest sure-to-fail green initiative aims to subsidize electric vehicle purchases. Of course, in true Inslee fashion, the mind-boggling numbers do not make financial sense.

Inslee’s $45 million electric car subsidy targets those earning up to $93,600 annually for a family of four, offering up to $9,000 for a three-year lease or $5,000 for a purchase. The state predicts a reduction of 24,000 metric tons of CO2, translating to about 8,767 rebates, each supposedly cutting 3.65 metric tons of CO2. However, as the Washington Policy Center points out, in the grand scheme of things, this reduction is close to nil.

At $1,875 per metric ton of CO2, the program’s cost is exorbitant compared to the state’s CO2 price of $25.76. Even worse, it dwarfs alternative CO2 reduction projects. It’s akin to splurging $1,125 on a $6 latte. The program’s touted importance in curbing transportation emissions falls flat, reducing them by a measly 0.03% for $45 million.

Ironically, Washington already has a CO2 emission cap, rendering the program’s efforts futile. For Inslee’s legacy, it’s just another inefficient climate policy that squanders millions for little to no actual benefit. Read more at the Washington Policy Center.

There’s serious liberal drama happening at Seattle City Hall. During a recent Council meeting, City Councilmember Cathy Moore accused fellow councilmember Tammy Morales of vilifying her colleagues as “evil… corporate shills” and lacking civility after a committee voted down Morales’ affordable housing bill. Warning of using council rules if any ad hominem attacks were used during discussions, Moore ended her speech by saying she would stop because she was “losing [her] temper.”

For her part, Morales denied Moore’s accusations of name-calling. She told the Seattle Times, “Despite the fact that everybody’s talking about the need for more affordable housing, when it comes down to it, there’s either no understanding of how we actually get there, or no willingness to really take action.” Which – amusingly enough – sounds an awful lot like an admission that the Seattle City Council really doesn’t know what to do about housing and lacks the will to do the wrong that she is insisting on. Woke UW students have now encamped themselves on campus in their ongoing effort to vilify Israel and sanitize Hamas terrorism. A particularly disturbing video of one anti-Israel activist is making the rounds online. In the video, a pink/purple haired student (surprise, surprise) holds up a “Free Gaza” sign as she repeatedly screams “shame” at an Asian student holding up an Israeli flag. What makes the video disturbing – as KTTH’s Jason Rantz points out – is not the remarkable level of lunacy on display. It’s that the remarkable level of lunacy has become expected, normal.

In the religion of woke, Palestinians are victimized “brown people” while Jews are “white people” or, at least, “white adjacent.” Using this logic, on the latter of intersectional victimhood, Palestinians rank higher. And, for the predominately affluent and sheltered students who practice the delusional religion of woke, that’s all that matters. They are even willing to defend terrorist actions like rape, murder, and kidnapping if it means guarding their woke ideology against – well – reality.
