UW students delay their antisemitic protest due to the overabundance of entitled white liberals.

UW Students Reach a New Level of Wokeness

UW’s Progressive Student Union (UWPSU) delayed an “UW Palestine encampment” due to excessive white student involvement – which, in woke terms, would have resulted in the appearance of “white saviors.” The event sparked criticism for excluding Muslim and Arab students from organizing. Upon cancellation, UWPSU faced intense online backlash for opportunism and poor planning – then again for allegedly deleting critical comments. The debacle is just another example of woke college students eating each other in a never-ending – albeit amusing – cycle of wokeness. More disturbing is the lack of action taken by adults who, in theory, should know better.

UW’s administration’s reluctance to intervene in initial plans highlights a broader issue of the university continually catering to the most extreme students, even over the safety of others (in this case, Jewish students). For any rational person, the debacle exposes the farcical nature of UW’s woke student protests. But it also exposes the extent that UW’s administration is willing to endorse extreme leftist ideologies. Read more at MyNorthwest.com.

The Left's Latest Power Play: New WA District Map Favors Democrats

In a move that smacks of partisan maneuvering, a federal judge has approved redrawn boundaries of a legislative district in Washington’s Yakima Valley. The decision, purportedly made to comply with the U.S. Voting Rights Act, has – conveniently enough –resulted in a map designed to bolster Democratic chances in upcoming elections. Under the guise of ensuring equal opportunity for Hispanic voters, the new district lines conveniently oust three Republican state senators and two Republican state House members. Ironically enough, one of the casualties is Latina Republican State Senator Nikki Torres.

Of course, the newly drawn 14th Legislative District conveniently tilts the political landscape in favor of Democrats – but that’s not all. The federal judge also agreed to shift the district from an odd-numbered to an even-numbered one, seemingly to align with higher Latino voter turnout during presidential years. Opponents of the new boundaries – and Democrats’ latest attempt to turn the odds into their favor – have lodged an appeal. Exodus in Olympia: State Lawmakers Leaving Office for Greener Pastures

Financial challenges, desire for better work-life balance, and redistricting issues are just some of the reasons behind an unusually high number of state lawmakers announcing their departure from public office. Over a dozen lawmakers have announced they won’t seek reelection this year, including key leaders in the State House like Republican Rep. J.T. Wilcox (Yelm) and Democrat Rep. Frank Chopp (Seattle). Notable departures in the State Senate include Republicans Lynda Wilson (Vancouver), Ann Rivers (La Center), Mike Padden (Spokane Valley), and Democrats Andy Billig (Spokane), Sam Hunt (Olympia), and Karen Keiser (Des Moines).

Of course, a handful of departing legislators are eyeing higher offices including those running for Congress and those seeking state-level positions. Whatever the reason, the large number of departures will mark a turning point in the political dynamics of Olympia – and only time will tell whether that spells a positive development for working families across our state. Until then, remember to vote – and vote wisely. Read more on lawmakers abandoning ship at NWNews.

Zebras Gone Wild: Spotted (or striped) in North Bend

In news unrelated to politics, four zebras escaped a trailer on route to Montana near North Bend/Interstate 90 on Sunday afternoon. Authorities managed to corral three of the four zebras that same day – but one remains at large. Many North Bend residents have reported sightings of the lost zebra, while others have volunteered to organize a zebra watch group to help find it. As King 5 News reports, animal control officers are working to track down the zebra amid concerns for its safety. According to officials, anyone who spots the animal should call 911 and not attempt to approach it. Read more om the bizarre case of the missing zebra here.
