A women’s line dancing team was invited to perform at the Emerald City Hoedown in Seattle last weekend but had their performance canceled shortly before they were to perform. Why you ask? Their matching American flag shirts which they wear to honor our country. Apparently, members of the audience felt “triggered and unsafe” by the shirts. We can only imagine how these people can go throughout their day while being constantly triggered by the copious amount of flags out in the world…Jason Rantz

A Seattle grant program to help small businesses with $2,000 microgrants to assist with property damage caused by criminals has paid out over $1.2 million since its inception in 2022. The fund was seeded by one-time federal funds and only has $800,000 left. We can only hope now that Seattle has found some level of sanity with their city council that maybe they will take crime and prosecuting criminals more seriously and lessen the need for this fund…The Center Square

The Washington State Department of Transportation has raised the maximum toll rate for SR-167 to a whopping $15 at peak times. The DOT claims that the goal is to provide clearer HOT lanes but for a department that talks a lot about equity, it sure seems like they are creating lanes that increasingly are for the wealthiest in our community and can afford ridiculously high tolls. After edging her out in the Primary in 2022, Joe Kent has endorsed Jaime Herrera Beutler in her bid to become Washington’s next Commissioner of Public Lands. Kent told the Daily Chronicle that he was officially endorsing her saying, “The need for experienced leadership in forest management and wildfire prevention has never been more apparent.” We anticipate that this will likely cause former President Trump to blow a gasket due to his extreme hatred for Herrera Beutler for voting for his impeachment in 2020.
