Now that lawmakers have passed this year’s supplemental budget, we are finally done with the legislative session for the year. Yeah!
However, all of Olympia’s work is not done, since Jay Inslee is following his usual “semi-work schedule” and is lagging behind everyone else. Most importantly, Inslee has yet to sign the bipartisan bill (thanks to a handful of Democrat votes) to save voter-approved public charter schools.
The deadline for Inslee to act by either vetoing or signing the charter-school bill is April 2nd. If he does not sign (a rather cowardly move), the bill will become law anyway. Unfortunately, it’s unknown whether or not Inslee will actually veto the bill to save public charter schools, since he has been unwilling to offend his campaign donors at the Washington Education Association (WEA) who so oppose the law.
Should Inslee veto the bill, Washington State would become the first state in the nation to close its charter schools. It would be betrayal of students, parents, teachers, and the bi-partisan legislative majority in favor of his million-dollar campaign donors at the WEA.
With just days to go before the deadline, charter school supporters anxiously await whether Inslee will back the will of the people or the agenda of special interests (the route he usually takes).

Since Inslee is in the back pocket of the WEA, why wouldn’t he veto the will of the people. Replace this imbecile next election
