It has been a couple of years since the racist Ramtha – i.e., “spiritualist” JZ Knight’s alter-ego – has been in the news for contributing to Democrats in Thurston County. You might recall that, in 2014, Knight/Ramtha gave some $65,000 to the Thurston County Democrat Party, so the party could funnel that money to some selected Democrat candidates.
At the time it was reported like this:
“Official political campaign finance disclosures show that Thurston County Democrats have accepted $65,000 in political contributions from spiritual leader J.Z. Knight, who has previously been videotaped making anti-gay, anti-immigrant, anti-Catholic and anti-Semitic statements to large groups at the Ramtha School of Enlightenment located in Yelm.”
Well, she’s back.
Once again the Thurston County Democrat party has “benefitted” from Ms. Knight’s bigoted largesse. According to PDC reports, Knight gave the county party $50,000 in July. That sum is 50 times higher than the party’s next largest contribution this year.
And why did the party need to turn to the county’s most notorious bigot for cash? It appears it was to help a couple Democrats running for County Commissioner, as a month after the Knight check cleared, a pair of $10,000 checks were written to Commission candidate Jim Cooper and Karen Hulse. Those are the only political contributions listed on the party’s financial records since the money flowed from Ramtha.
So now the question for Copper and Hulse is this, “are you comfortable taking such a large contribution from a videotaped bigot?”
Wonder if anybody in the media – or general public – will get to ask them that question.
