California billionaire has been a frequent visitor – or at least his many has – in Washington State policies in recent years. The retired hedge fund manager – who made much of his cash of foreign fossil fuel investments – has been a best buddy of our “green” governor Jay Inslee for the past few years.
And while in June, Steyer gave the maximum $4,000 to Inslee’s re-election campaign, the nation’s biggest liberal donor has not yet dropped serious cash into our state.
And with Steyer’s claims that he is putting $20 million “to mobilize 2 million voters in eight swing states to boost support for Democrat Hillary Clinton”, perhaps he has gotten tired of getting beat here.
At least, we can only hope that Steyer will keep his money closer to home, as he contemplates a run for California governor in 2018.
