Seattle labor activists are not happy with small businesses who challenge their extreme $15 minimum wage agenda—so they are boycotting them.
Organizing under the name Support Seattle Workers, $15 minimum wage activists set up a website to facilitate boycotting efforts. The boycott specifically targets businesses involved in Forward Seattle—the group currently working to overturn Seattle’s $15 minimum wage ordinance.
According to the Puget Sound Business Journal, Working Washington—the group of activists organizing the boycott—claim that “the $15 minimum wage is already a law and Forward Seattle measure – which would allow voters to decide whether to pass an $18 minimum wage – is actually an effort to repeal the law.” Out of retaliation, Working Washington is demanding a boycott.
Working Washington has provided a list of businesses who have dared to speak out against the $15 minimum wage, and those who are a part of Forward Seattle, on their website… for the boycotting convenience of their fellow activists.
The boycotter’s are walking a fine line here this can be construed as an interruption of free speech at minimum and extortion in some cases. SEIU go back to the rock of which you crawled out from under.
The boycotts are an example of free speech, despite that nasty twist you’ve attempted.
PS- boycotter’s = not a word.
mmmm… Sorry most small business owners can’t pay this. I love when people speak callously about others money. This is going to cost a lot of people their livelihood.
Mmmmmm…
Sorry, many workers can’t pay the rent & business profits are at record highs, because of the availability of cheap cash….
If you can’t pay your workers, you “think” the state should support your business ? Heck, go on welfare, it’s more honest, than pretending you can run a business….
Record profits by business means, THEY CAN HIRE & PAY !!!
A small business owners’ profits are their’s and no one else’s.
Robin Hood, why don’t you rob the rich SEIU and give to the poor rather than focusing on people in the private sector who actually take risk?
Do you feel stupid, making a statement like that ? The profits belong to the earners & investors, BOTH !
Of course, if they’re willing to pay the welfare taxes, rather than society, let me know.
So you called me stupid and a moron…haha, such maturity and intellect are terribly intimidating!
Profits belong to owners and not earners. If the owners want to do profit sharing, that is their choice alone to make. I personally believe in profit-sharing but that doesn’t mean other small business owners have to do that.
Looks like you’re a commie…. America voted differently, dummy.
Argue with Democracy.
Why do you morons always spout ineffectual opinions, you have no intelligent position on ??
Street people get tired of your blathering ?
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA !
No jobs…No !5.00 an hour. You can demand all you want but that does not mean you are going to get hired if an employer cannot afford you.
Record profits by business means, THEY CAN HIRE & PAY !!!
Exactly which small businesses are having “record profits”? I bet the $EIU is getting record dues from Seattle Donks though…
Google is your friend, use it, rather than being a lazy nanny stater. Look up the article on the hotel folks in yesterday’s Times, teatwit.
What makes me a “nanny stater”? And are seriously suggesting that a hotels are representative of all small businesses?
You’re a nanny stater for continuing to ask me to do your work & no business represents all businesses , idiot….
Ps- A hotels ???
LMAO !
STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES !
F. Gump
HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA !
Haha, your comment isn’t even relevant to my question.
Tell me, oh moron….. which CEOs average better wages, corp or union ?
