We’re celebrating the end of the week with whispers that may or may not have been (it’s the latter) overheard in the state Capitol Building this week. Enjoy this Friday Funny!
Overheard in the Capitol…
- Democrat state Rep. Ross Hunter to fellow Democrat lawmaker: “… We gave Jay Inslee the boot out of the budget negotiation room after that. Unfortunately, we’ll have to let him back in so he can save face. Just as long he stays quiet this time around…”

- Democrat state Rep. Frank Chopp to Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) lobbyists: “Listen, it’s your job to make sure those d*** Republicans get the blame when the state government shuts down. It’s my job to make sure the state government shuts down. You do your job, I’ll do mine.”

- Democrat state Rep. Judy Clibborn to a staffer: “I’ve been working so hard to negotiate a transportation package. Now Chopp and his cronies want to hold it hostage for his sick political game. And I just have to suck it up.”

- A reporter from Union Bulletin to an Inslee staffer: “I’m sorry but there is no way I’m buying that Jay Inslee didn’t know that you all have been discussing a crude oil and biofuel refinery near Longview, Washington with the Riverside Energy CEO. My editor may have walked back that editorial, but I don’t believe a word of it.”

- An extreme “green” lobbyist to a small group of Democrat state senators: “You all have to shut this investigation Ericksen and other Republicans have launched into Snohomish County PUD, the state Department of Commerce and 1Energy. We can’t afford for them to uncover another green corruption scandal. It’s getting embarrassing.”
