Twas the end of Inslee’s budget roll out, when all through the land,
Not a person could believe, what was at hand.
New taxes were hung over the heads of all,
In hopes that Inslee would soon get his haul.
A $39 billion budget that would not spare a penny,
Not even a thought given to the pockets of any.
Inslee with a cap-and-tax, and a fuel mandate to add,
Used the state budget as his launching pad.
He spoke not a word of his green plans,
But soon slapped a gas tax on everyone’s hands.
He would pay for his haul with more taxes still,
And pass his green scheme without even a bill.
There may be still hope if you will act,
Just let Inslee know you don’t like his tack.
But for now enjoy the holiday’s reason,
Don’t let Inslee put a damper on the season.
Be filled with warmth and feel the glow,
When you hear the Christmas story of long ago.
