Seattle City Council candidates spare over who is the worse driver.

The silence is deafening from those who implemented the state sanctuary policy that kept “undocumented immigrants” with criminal records in our state who then committed murder. Two more recent deaths have yet to draw a comment from Governor Jay Inslee and other state Democrats. They need to be accountable for their policy that forbids local law enforcement of notifying Immigration and Customs Enforcement of illegal activities that could result in deportation. (ShiftWA)

Leaders of the Yakima and Lummi tribes called for the removal of the three lower Columbia River dams (Bonneville, John Day, and The Dallas). Reports of the announcement did not specify how the tribes would replace the energy provided by hydroelectric power which supplies 70% of the region’s electricity. It will be interesting to see if state Democrats stand with their political allies in supporting this very irresponsible policy. (YakTriNews)
Jay Inslee continues to act as a self-appointed arbiter of ethnic justice on his Twitter account. Yet, in 2012 Inslee and the WA Democrats accepted $70,000 from JZ Knight even though there were videos of her spewing hate towards Hispanics and gays on YouTube (which Knight had removed). At the time, Inslee dodged questions for many days and finally gave the Knight’s contribution away when Seattle media picked up the story. Proving Inslee and the state Democrats did not give the money away because it was the right thing to do, they gave the money away because they were caught. Not exactly the actions of someone who claims to have the moral authority to condemn other people’s behavior. (Twitter & KUOW)

Supporters of Seattle Councilmember Lisa Herbold attacked her opponent’s driving record, yet Herbold’s record is much worse. Since 1992 Herbold has been charged with 26 driving infractions including driving with a suspended license, speeding in a school zone, and parking illegally in a handicap space. (MyNorthwest)
Two candidates with opposite priorities are contending for Snohomish County’s 2nd District seat. Mukilteo councilmember Anna Rohrbough is a Republican and says her priority is fighting crime and stopping the county from enabling drug addiction. Activist Megan Dunn is a Democrat and wants to focus on environmental policies and affordable housing. The district includes Mukilteo, Everett and the Tulalip reservation. If Rohrbach is successful she would be the first Republican to represent the district since it was formed in 1980. (Everett Herald)

323 students were not allowed in Spokane schools on Monday due to the state’s new vaccine laws. 300 students failed to provide documentation of being vaccinated while 23 students claimed personal exemptions. (Inlander)
The City of Wapato has yet to determine its budget for the coming year and there is still uncertainty as to what is currently in the city’s accounts. Embattled mayor Dora Alverez-Roa fired the city’s treasurer earlier this year and that is the city official who is responsible for leading the budget process. (Yakima Herald)
