In typical Inslee fashion, the governor will be spending even more time out of the state. Inslee will be making stops in a few east coast states, including Florida (a state with 29 electoral votes, coincidentally). Inslee plans to spend Election Day and the day after in Washington, D.C., for “media/DGA responsibilities,” said his political spokesman. “DGA” is the Democratic Governors Association, which Inslee obviously views as his real job these days. But fear not: You’re still paying his salary. (Seattle Times)

According to the Secretary of State Kim Wyman’s office, Washington has over 252,000 new state voters this year. That is up roughly 54 percent compared to the number of new IDs that were created between January and November 2014. (Washington State Wire)

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan’s latest budget proposal wants the city to spend $90 millionon homelessness, with the city council hoping to add even more. The council is asking the mayor to approve multiple budget additions, including $378,000 to fund shelter beds along with $4 million to pilot a new large-tent shelter program. (Seattle Times)

The Yakima City Council will vote Tuesday on a policy to set minimum standards for temporary emergency weather shelters. Randy Beehler, a city spokesman, said the city enacts the same policy every year to comply with state guidelines. As of now, no specific building has been identified as the site for a temporary homeless shelter. (Yakima Herald-Republic)
