Spokane mayoral candidate Ben Stuckart poked a hornet’s nest by saying he favored Vancouver-style “safe” heroin injection sites for Spokane.

Referendum 88 turned in 177,000 signatures (20,000 more than needed) and will likely be placed on the November ballot. On the final day of the 2019 Washington Legislature, the Democrats overturned a 20-year-old vote of the people and re-instated racial quotas for government employment and contracts. If successful, Referendum 88 will overturn the Democrats recent actions. Thus far, R-88 has raised nearly $700,000 mostly from within the Asian community. (KING 5)

It is a clearance sale at the Inslee HQWe told you previously about how they were raffling off Inslee’s old doodles. Now to get rid of their boxes of t-shirts, the Inslee campaign is selling them dirt cheap – for as low as three cents!  In their latest fundraising appeal, the Inslee team says, “If you get three friends to donate ANY AMOUNT…we’ll send you a free t-shirt.” Get three friends to donate 1 cent and you can have a fine memento of when a politician made you pay for his campaign’s security team. Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat once believed “The main point of even having a sugary beverages tax is to blunt consumption of sugary beverages.” Yet today, “it looks like soda consumption is going only up.”  Even media members are catching on that liberal policies are often driven by greed – mostly for government unions. As with most taxes the result of the Soda Tax is that government becomes wealthier, larger, and more powerful.  This is bad enough, but with the Soda Tax it is disproportionally paid for by those in lower income homes. “Once Seattle raised its minimum to $15 an hour, entry level job growth stalled,” says John Stossel in a report marking the 5th anniversary of Seattle’s government mandated wage hikes. Like the Soda Tax, the people who are hurt the most by the minimum wage increase are lower income households from both reduced hours and reduced employment opportunities. Ben Stuckart should stay away from social media. Earlier this year, on the eve of announcing his candidacy for Mayor of Spokane, he deleted tweets he had made in favor of comments by socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Now, responding to questions on Reddit, Stuckart has stepped into another hornets’ nest by saying he favors  Vancouver/Seattle-style “safe” heroin injection sites. He said, “I agree with safe injection sites and clean needle exchange programs.” He also showed an open mind to legalizing magic mushrooms.
