Dori Monson says state Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s latest lawsuit over 3D-printed guns is just a ploy to grab headlines and raise money for his 2020 gubernatorial campaign. “Bob Ferguson will do nothing to upset the Democratic base he needs to become governor. And he has decided that taking a stand against 3D-printed guns is another way to feed some raw meat to his Democrat supporters.” (My Northwest)
U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik issued a temporary restraining order blocking the release of downloadable blueprints for 3D-printed firearms. The ruling follows Attorney General Bob Ferguson’s suit challenging the Trump Administration’s decision to allow the release of blueprints. (Seattle Times)

Kshama Sawant is now directing her energy at attacking a Canadian company that wants to develop at the site of The Showbox music venue. Vancouver B.C.-based developer Onni Group submitted a permit application to construct an apartment building on the site of The Showbox, which Sawant is keen on stopping. (My Northwest)
Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan signed the Domestic Worker Bill of Rights into law earlier this week. The legislation will ensure domestic workers receive minimum wage, rest, and meal breaks, while creating another government panel to oversee the implementation. The law goes into effect in July 2019. Eastern Washington
So-called Republican James Allsup, who marched with white supremacists in Charlottesville VA, doesn’t like it when people call him names or assign him labels like ‘racist’. The Spokesman-Review says Allsup, who caused much controversy while a WSU student and since, is now affiliated with a group “which promotes a vision of America dominated by white people”. Allsup has “radical, hateful views – views that are completely antithetical to the core values of the Republican Party,” state Republican chair Caleb Heimlich said. “We condemn his ideology and his discriminatory viewpoints in the strongest possible manner.” (Spokesman-Review)
Rob Lobos with the Environmental Protection Agency says the plan to clean up Hanford will leave the land, “clean enough for all potential future uses, including residential.” Currently the land post-cleanup is expected to be left natural, with some possible limited recreational use near the river. (Tri-City Herald)
