Value Village is suing A.G. Bob Ferguson. The thriftstore chain believes the $3.2 million fine Ferguson’s office required them to pay after a three-year investigation that looked into the percentage of revenue the company gives to charities was a violation of the company’s free speech rights. Western Washington

Setting a toll rate for the new Highway 99 tunnel is in the hands of the Washington State Transportation Commission as members debate how high they can raise the toll without dissuading drivers from actually using the expensive new tunnel. (The Seattle Times)

The two protestors who climbed construction cranes at the site of Puget Sound Energy’s future liquefied natural gas plant in Tacoma were arrested by authorities yesterday. They had locked themselves to the machine in protest. (The Spokesman-Review)

Eastern Washington

Uber submitted a formal application to bring its ride-share service to Pasco. The company has already been operating in the rest of the Tri-City area, but neither Lyft nor Uber currently operate in Pasco. (Tri-City Herald)
