The Washington Association of School Administrators recently published a presentation on their website that compares their opposition to Lenin and Goebbels, a German propaganda minister. As Liv Finne said, “It is not possible to have an informed conversation about education reform when WASA implies that people who hold alternate views are fascists and communists. This mean-spirited tactic comes across as a transparent effort to bully others into silence.”
Western Washington
Bertha is finally leaving, as the first piece of the machine was lifted out of the Highway 99 tunnel on Wednesday. Our fingers are crossed there will be no more complications with the remainder of the removal.
Marysville school district has installed traffic cameras to 15 buses, to catch and fine people who illegally pass the busses.
Seattle Police are increasing patrols in South Seattle after the last 24 hours has seen five “shooting incidents,” with one fatality and four injuries.

Lisa Brown will step down as WSU Spokane chancellor this August, and says she, “think(s) running for Congress is a possibility.”
Glover Middle School, in Spokane, has been given a $150,000 grant for discipline assistance, the money will be used over three years for staff training on how to handle student discipline as well as support for students with trauma.
