A Lewis County judge had to physically restrain a man when he allegedly assaulted the opposing attorney during a court proceeding. Officials say the man tried to hit the attorney a second time when District Court Judge R.W. Buzzard restrained him. (Centralia Chronicle)
After workers with Bravo Environmental NW dropped a motorized camera into the city sewer system, Bonney Lake spent close to $400,000 to recover it. The city filed suit against Bravo for the amount it spent to recover the camera. “The city is pursuing recovery so that the city’s sewer customers do not have to foot the bill for a contractor’s negligence,” said Leslie Harris, management analyst and executive assistant for Bonney Lake. (Tacoma News Tribune)
Seattle drivers, get ready to contribute to the Hwy 99 tunnel costs, as tolls are expected to bring in $1 billion over the 27-year life of the bonds. In addition to the $496 million it will cost to set up the toll, drivers will also pay for $200 million in construction, $129 million in interest, and $170 million in tunnel maintenance. Go Big Tri-Cities, a group working to convince Kennewick voters to raise the sales tax to upgrade the Three Rivers Convention Center campus, will pay $1,000 for violating election laws. The group failed to report $2,000 in monetary contributions and $7,500 of in-kind contributions, among other issues. (Tri-City Herald)
