Seattle may soon be testing ground for self-driving cars, now that Gov. Jay Inslee has signed an executive order to allow driverless cars in Washington in 60 days.
Western Washington
Key Arena negotiations are moving forward, as Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has announced the city will begin negotiating with Oak View Group for the renovation.
Seattle’s homeless population grew by 3.5 percent last year. Clark, Snohomish, Spokane and King County each had a rise of 8 percent. Pierce County’s homeless population dropped by 25 percent.
Eastern Washington
Spokane’s teachers union elected Katy Henry as President and Jeremy Shay as Vice President. Both positions had incumbents who were defeated, including Jenny Rose who has served as president for the last eight years.
