Western Washington
The preliminary hearing ruled that the City of Seattle violated state bargaining laws in implementing body cams before negotiations were finished with the police. The State of Washington Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) issued a preliminary ruling in favor of the Seattle Police Officer’s Guild. The Guild claimed that Seattle violated state bargaining laws by implementing the Body cams. The city has 21 days to respond.
Nearly 30% of concrete drivers in King County have gone on strike. 300 Teamster members have been working without contract for the last two weeks and negotiations have yet to be completed.
King County Metro Transit and their worker unions have come to a contract agreement. Negotiations provided the 4,100 members with $85 million more in wages and health-insurance benefits, as well as allowing more breaks during shifts.
