There are several competing budget approaches in the “other” Washington right now, one being developed by the House Republicans, President Obama’s campaign blueprint and now one from the Progressive Caucus. The Progressives are unabashed in their willingness to explode the deficit at a record pace, raise any tax they can and make government as big as possible.
However, in reviewing frosh Congresswoman Suzan DelBene’s web site, you can find no mention of the federal budget. And her congressional site offers no opinion on current legislation. So, unless she tells her constituents otherwise, can we only assume she stands with 70 of her progressive Congressional colleagues in favor of a $25-per-ton carbon tax, government provided single-payer health care, a 4% pay raise for federal employees and raising Social Security taxes?
