Federal Way Senator Tracey Eide seemingly took a risk last year when she accepted an offer from the Republican-led Majority Coalition Caucus to be the Democrat co-chair of the Transportation Committee. But instead of seeking solutions to the very real problems our state faces after years of neglect, it turns out that she sees her job is to keep any changes from being made at the State Department of Transportation.
Eide is insisting that all we need to do is raise taxes to improve mobility around the state, because it’s like not our current transportation bureaucrats are building floating bridge pontoons with holes in them, or digging a tunnel one teaspoonful at a time. No reforms needed for those folks, just give them more money.
Wonder if Federal Way voters stuck in traffic jams this fall trying to get to work will remember that their Senator – who is up for re-election if she decides to run – thinks everything is just fine out there on the roads?

Which of these “reforms” would address the problems of the pontoons or AWV replacement? These “reforms” are policy changes – not reforms that would improve the performance of WSDOT.
