It’s RaceTrack time
Since Democrats are committed to doing as little as possible in Olympia this year – except highlight “culture war” issues which might motivate its tremendously depressed base voters – it’s time to start ramping up examination of the hot races this fall. Chris Vance – a contributor to Smarter Government WA and Crosscut – provides an overview of the campaigns which will dominate mailboxes in at least a half dozen state legislative districts in November – State Senate races.
Will the Democrat ever learn?
You might have thought that after PolitiFact awarded President Obama its ‘Lie of the Year’ for his oft-repeated ObamaCare whopper (“If you like your health care…) that other national Democrats would take the hint, and not try to, let’s say, fudge the record when it comes to their signature legislative “accomplishment” in recent memory.
Evidently, Democrat Senator Dick Durbin missed that memo before he went on Face The Nation yesterday, and lied through his teeth, and direct to camera:
Bob, let’s look at the bottom line. The bottom line is this: 10 million Americans have health insurance today who would not have had it without the Affordable Care Act. Ten million.”
Umm, actually not even close to that many people Dick, at least according to that noted conservative publication, the Washington Post, which gave you Four Pinocchios for your misleading statement.
SEIU gets all good liberals singing off the same song sheet
It’s all coordinating, all the time, for the professional Left in Washington State, trying desperately to take voters’ minds off of the disaster that is Democratic “leadership” in DC and Olympia. Right now, because having the nation’s highest minimum wage doesn’t provide enough dues money to certain Washington State unions, we have the minimum wage choir in a full-throated call-to-action that everyone knows is going nowhere in Olympia.
Leading the choir is, of course, SEIU 775NW. Chiming in right behind the SEIU is that noted economist, Jay Inslee.
And, of course, literally minutes after Wrong-Way Jay was out with his email Saturday on the need to harm Washington State’s economy, the State Labor Council came in right behind him with its own “Action Alert” aimed at turning up the heat on legislators who might not want to undermine our still-shaky economic recovery.
We can hardly wait to see who is joining the choir today…
