The latest national player to jump into Washington State’s elections – following Tom Steyer [link to story on him] and the League of Conservation Voters is the National Education Association (NEA). The Washington D.C.-based teachers’ union has pumped $1 million into the Initiative 1351 campaign, evidently to help it earn substantial dues dollars from local teachers.
In fact, out of the 25,324 new full time employees the wasteful union-sponsored initiative would add, at least7,500 would pay national dues of $182 per year. Considering the national teachers’ union would recoup its $1 million in a matter of 10 months, the NEA’s interest in investing into I-1351 becomes clear.
As for the WEA, it has donated $1.6 million to I-1351. Of course, using money collected from its union members.

FOR SURE WE DO NOT WANT COMMON CORE. We already left them with a debt they might not be able to pay if we keep approving more taxes for them to pay on top of it all.
