Liberals to invade Bellevue, pretend they like roads

The Democrats who control King County are certainly having trouble figuring out how best to convince voters to raise regressive taxes on themselves (for the third time since 2000) for a transit system that can’t seem to keep its promises. So, they are resorting to sending the liberal group FUSE into downtown Bellevue to recruit activists to help them with turnout for the special tax-raising election next month (see email below).

Fortunately for their recruiting efforts, they are offering beer.

Unfortunately for those efforts, there probably isn’t enough beer in Bellevue to obscure the fact that Metro is an agency unable to control its own costs, and that the majority of the benefit for this county-wide tax increase is for Seattle bus riders.

That leaves FUSE to resort to extreme distortion in its recruiting drive – this vote is to “Save Metro”, with “drastic cuts looming”. The Seattle liberals who orchestrated this ballot initiative – warning, profanity alert – hope to be able to sneak this past an unsuspecting electorate in this Earth Day election.

But just in case, they are also resorting to beer.
