The leftist “think” tank Washington State Budget and Policy Center plans to hold a Budget Matters 2015 Summit on Wednesday, December 9. According to the so-called think-tank the summit “will focus on how progress as a society requires racial equity in policymaking, budget decisions, and the political process.” The summit will “feature influential speakers who will contribute to the dialogue about how to ensure all Washingtonians can shape the policy decisions that affect our state.”
Who are these “influential speakers?” Well, the keynote speaker is Patrisse Cullors. Cullors is the co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement.
The sponsors of the event include some of the Who’s Who of big labor. They include SEIU 775, SEIU 925, SEIU 1199NW, Teamsters Local 117 and UFCW Local 21.
The event is another example of just how far the extreme Left is willing to go to cater to the Black Lives Matter movement to become relevant players in the 2016 election. As Shift reported, the Democracy Alliance—a group of wealthy liberal donors—will meet with leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement and their allies “to discuss funding the burgeoning protest movement” this week.
