Inslee, Murray ban travel to Mississippi in act of pure hypocrisy

Jay Inslee and Seattle Mayor Ed Murray added Mississippi to their list of places they don’t personally like, so the governments they allegedly “lead” are banned from official travel to the state. The two hypocrites’ response comes after Mississippi adopted a religious freedom law allowing religious groups and some private businesses to opt out of performing services for same-sex wedding ceremonies.

Of course, as is so often the case with liberals, the new law has been blown out of proportion. To be clear, the law does not limit anyone’s constitutionally protected rights, nor does it challenge any federal laws. It is merely concerned with preserving the First Amendment’s freedom of religion protections.

But, that doesn’t fit into the political approach of liberals like Inslee and Murray. No, they prefer to jump at the opportunity to hypocritically attack a free state like Mississippi.

Because, apparently, a person’s religious freedoms are less important than some far-Left egalitarian ideal that liberals’ push under the guise of “equality.”

Of course, the irony is that Inslee and Murray (like so many liberals) appear to believe that one right (liberals’ interpretation of “equality”) is more important than another right (religious liberty). Thus, the very act of picking one right over another is contrary to their distorted pursuit of “equality”… making them all hypocrites.

If liberals like Inslee and Murray were honest, they would just admit that it’s not about true equality. It’s about valuing one right over another, and the political contributions that come from making the profitable choice. And, in this situation, the First Amendment right to religious freedom is the right they are choosing to suppress in their pursuit of egalitarianism.

Perhaps if Inslee and Murray were a little more concerned with their own business – like, say, running Washington State and Seattle – they would have less time to pull ridiculous, hypocritical stunts like banning travel to Mississippi.
