Accidental billionaire Nick Hanauer has long been a darling of the Seattle Left for his generosity in giving big money to groups like the Progress Alliance of Washington and his willingness to be the public face of liberal/progressive losing causes like a state income tax.
Most recently Hanauer has been in the news for his far-left views on raising the minimum wage, which the Forbes has termed “near insane”. Evidently the economic approach which led him to being allowed to invest early in Amazon (and thus earn a big chunk of his fortune) has abandoned in him in favor of a strictly partisan approach to politics now.
Hanauer has decided to publically cement his allegiance to the Democrat agenda in Washington State with the news that he has hired liberal blogger David Goldstein. Goldstein is best known for his devotion to using the f-word as often as possible in his attacks on all things NOT liberal, both on his own scatologically-named blog and in the pages of Seattle’s likewise profane weekly, The Stranger (at least until he was fired recently for evidently being even too wacky for that publication).
Goldstein posted on his own blog that Hanauer has hired him to “put my research, analysis, and writing skills to work advancing a broad range of public policy issues”.
That “range of issues” will undoubtedly go all the way from the far-left to wherever Kshama Sawant is these days.
