State Attorney General Bob Ferguson took a break from suing President Trump to hold a town hall. He addressed a few things, but the one question floating through the air at every Ferguson event is when he plans to officially announce his candidacy for governor. He said he would not decide until Gov. Jay Inslee makes a decision about whether to run for a third term, which Ferguson expects will come later this year. (Spokesman-Review)
Western Washington
The Seattle Department of Transportation, in response to outraged cyclists, will make some small changes to its plan for building bike lanes and slow streets called greenways. In the latest version of the plan, SDOT added back several bike lanes and greenways that had previously been cut. “We also want to see these projects actually built and we don’t want it to become a graveyard for projects that are ready for [planning] but, should funding become available but political will stammer, they don’t actually get built,” said Amanda Barnett, co-chair of the Seattle Bicycle Advisory Board. Eastern Washington
Good news to all of you who have resolved to find something else on the internet to watch other than cat videos. The Walla Walla City Council meetings and work sessions will be streamed live on the city’s website. The council currently meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. (Union-Bulletin)
An Arizona newspaper is reporting that Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore is a finalist for Flagstaff’s search for the same role. This is the third attempt by the city to fill the position, after the city’s top two choices rejected offers. Moore has served as Yakima’s city manager since 2016. (Yakima Herald)
