We know that feeling

Happening in Olympia

Governor Inslee issued an emergency proclamation for the state’s growing wildfire dangers, activating the National Guard. “This proclamation ensures resources are ready to go at a moment’s notice to help protect our communities from another unprecedented fire season,” Inslee said. (My Northwest)

Governor Inslee has been reluctant to say anything after Oregon announced its intention to toll I-5 and I-205. That changed earlier this week. Inslee, at an event celebrating the completion of the West Vancouver Freight Access Project, said “I have instructed the state Department of Transportation to make sure [Southwest Washingtonians’] voices are heard.” (The Columbian)

Tuesday proved to be a rough day for the Mariners. Not only did they drop a game to the Astros, they lost a key council ally for the plan to use $180 million in hotel/motel taxes for fixes and maintenance at Safeco Field. King County councilmember Jeanne Kohl-Welles announced she will pull her name from the bill to spend public funds on the stadium. “The bottom line is our region is experiencing a major housing crisis,” Kohl-Welles said. The $78 million sale of Trios Health was delayed due to “a dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s thing,” said Jeff Atwood, spokesman for RCCH HealthCare Partners, the company that’s buying the public hospital system. “Any time there’s a transaction this complex, there are a thousand different agreements and documents and schedules that have to be done,” he added.
