King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn wants to install barriers along King County’s trails to prevent vehicles from gaining access to them. “My fear is the problem with what happened in New York (where a man drove a truck into a bike path)… let’s make our trail system a place where that can’t happen,” Dunn said. The King County Bar Association has filed formal complaints against a candidate running for judge after Nathan Choi ran advertisements that said, “Vote for Judge Nathan Choi,” despite never being a judge before and despite not submitting any reports to the PDC. “Unfair or potentially deceptive campaign conduct by judicial candidates can undermine public confidence in the courts unless the public is certain that such conduct will not be tolerated,” Andrew Maron, president of the King County Bar Association said. Pullman has hired Retail Strategies with a $135,000 contract to help improve retail spending in their city. Mayor Glenn Johnson points to residents’ long expressed desire for more shopping in Pullman as well as sales tax revenue for reasons behind hiring the contractor for help. (The Spokesman Review)
