Former U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan has been endorsed by current Seattle Mayor Ed Murray for his position, as Murray declared he will not be running as a write-in candidate. ”I realized that although the current primary field is crowded, there was one candidate in the race who stood head and shoulders above the rest,” Murray said of Durkan.
Tacoma has repealed an ordinance banning stun guns from city limits, legislation that has been in place since 2006.
Sound Transit is being sued for $300,000 after a woman was injured crossing the trolley tracks last year. “Car drivers wouldn’t put up with a hazard in the middle of the street that would flip the car,” attorney Philip Arnold said.
Seattle has accepted a $50 million federal grant to help with the First Avenue streetcar, which will be enough money to renovate streetcar tracks.

Trios Health, the public hospital system in Kennewick, is seeking filing for Chapter 9 bankruptcy after their board approved it last night. Board member Dr. Leonard Dreisbach said, “it’s important that (people) understand that the hospital is going to continue. This is out best way to help it to continue and to function and to improve.”
