The Left’s Unforgivable Sin: Working for Coal Co.’s

Share:

It’s rather funny watching the liberals in Seattle trash one of their own. Their newest target is Mark Steuerwalt, a respected professional who used to be the top environmental advisor to Gov. Christine Gregoire. His crime? After leaving state government he – oh, the horror – worked for coal companies.

The hypocrisy is absolutely stunning, even for the professional Left.

Evidently, economic McCarthyism is alive and well for the folks at the ultra-liberal Sightline which broke the “story”. Here are a couple reasons why Sightline’s attempt to blacklist Steuerwalt is so hypocritical:

1.       Unlike the businesses who hired Inslee’s new policy advisor, Sightline doesn’t disclose things like donor lists and clients. That secrecy keeps the public from knowing who their writers work for, other than the shady big-money Progress Alliance of Washington, which claims Sightline is a grantee.

2.       If advocating for an idea that liberals disagree with (like producing economical energy and reducing foreign dependence on oil) is now an offense that prohibits future employment, does that mean the Left will turn on President Obama once he leaves office? After all, he used to defend the Defense of Marriage Act to prevent gay marriage and he still argues against legalized pot. How can that man claim to a good liberal?
