Now that Seattle has jumped off the experimental cliff by raising its minimum wage by over 60% (pending lawsuits, initiatives, common sense returning, etc.), the next step for the Professional Left in Seattle is to try again at imposing a state income tax in our state.
Lucky rich guy Nick Hanauer, who was a leader the last time the liberals tried to establish an income tax here, wants to try again. After all, that’s the only way that guys like him can pay their fair share of taxes, so that government can get bigger and control more of the economy.
Of course, if he wants to pay in taxes, he could always write the state a check – there’s no law against that.
