Kshama Sawant has never been content to let someone else get attention – like say, candidates on the ballot next Tuesday. So, today, she came out with something sure to thrill her far-left supporters: a new tax package, to go on top of the tax package on the ballot this year!
The Seattle Times reports that Sawant wants to impose “an annual head tax of $18 per employee and a commercial-parking-tax hike of 5 percent” to provide for “a mass expansion of public transit.”
Evidently, for Sawant, there is no downside to a “mass expansion” of taxes which could drive businesses and consumers out of the city. Undoubtedly, small business owners and council members in neighboring cities will be cheering Sawant on in her latest attack on capitalism in Seattle.
