Last week, the Washington State Senate voted not to approve the confirmation of WSDOT Secretary Lynn Peterson. Republican lawmakers effectively put an end to Peterson’s highly partisan and ineffective leadership.
Peterson has proved herself to be, time and time again, an outrageous partisan keen on imposing her far-Left agenda on Washingtonians, and justifying it with whatever defense just happened to come to mind. In December, she went as far as to defend her tolling scheme on Interstate 405 by claiming someone was ready to commit suicide over the gridlock. Peterson was later forced to admit that she made that up.
Highly unqualified for the position when she was picked by Jay Inslee back in 2013, Peterson was an energetic advocate for bike lanes in Oregon before joining the Inslee team. Since then, she has grappled with understanding that her job is to make it easier, not harder, for cars and trucks to move on Washington’s roads.
KIRO Radio’s Dori Monson applauded Peterson’s ousting, saying that her firing would save taxpayers’ money and undue heartache. Monson,
“This has tremendous significance going forward as well because as you may recall, about 13 or 14 years ago, it was leaked to me that this Puget Sound regional task force … had a vision to turn every single road in our entire region into a toll lane…
“I told you about this, but a lot of people dismissed my information. I said we were like the frogs in the water and they’re slowly turning the heat up on us right now. Eventually, there would be a breaking point and people would say enough is enough.
“You bring in a Texas company and they get the tolls up to $10 on I-405 as quickly and often as possible and then families are losing $4K, $5K a year for the privilege of driving on roads that they’ve already paid for.
“I said more is coming. I told you more is coming because their goal remains to make every road a toll road.”
Monson went on to point out that Democrats will find it difficult to push forward their plan to get people out of their cars and into public transportation after what has happened in Olympia. Washingtonians are fed-up; Democrats and their bureaucratic partisans like Peterson are dealing with the consequences of their actions.

Toll roads are the most antiquated form of taxation that any liberal could shove down your throat.

So the question remains, why do Washingtonians continue to vote DEMS despite all their incompetencies and in your face “raise your taxes” promises?
