Facts rarely get in the way of a good liberal attack ad, and they are certainly not stopping the Seattleites who have targeted suburban State Senator Andy Hill for defeat because he was willing to put students before special interests in the legislature. And with ballots are going out this week, we expected these kinds of slimy attacks, which is why we asked SHIFT readers to send us examples of Democrat desperation – and here’s the first example we received (taken with a cell phone-very resourceful).
Using a Halloween theme, the ad suggests that Sen. Hill is wearing a mask “to disguise his record”. The special interests who paid for the ad – the State Labor Council, FUSE Votes, Washington Conservation Voters, and State Employees union– hypocritically claim Hill is “king of the special interests” because he would not raise taxes to give them more government money.
It’s a clear distortion of facts, but that’s what you can expect for the next three weeks as the liberals try desperately to elect a State Senate majority that will go along with Jay Inslee’s job-killing and tax-raising environmental agenda. The ironically-named “Eastside Integrity PAC” claims responsibility for the ad, but the money is not coming from the Eastside at all, but rather from California billionaire Tom Steyer – who yesterday dumped $800,000 dollars into the groups paying for the ad.
The ridiculous attack ad is only one of the many expected to be aired in the short weeks leading up to Election Day. SHIFT will continue to highlight Democrats’ last ditch, desperate attempt to turn the state over to Tom Steyer and his whacky environmental agenda.
