Today’s announcement by the President that he now knows he wants to keep his promise that people could keep the insurance they liked led a friend to send this snippet from the Congressional Record http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/11/13/Top-10-Senate-Dems-Who-Should-Apologize (S.6400, 6/10/09):
SEN. PATTY MURRAY (D-WA): “Again, if you like what you have, you will be able to keep it. Let me say this again: If you like what you have, when our legislation is passed and signed by the President, you will be able to keep it.”
We assume by now that even Sen. Murray realizes that both she and President were not telling the truth when they kept saying that everybody could keep their insurance coverage if they liked it. The question to ask is whether Murray will admit that she was wrong then, and support legislation to allow some 290,000 Washingtonians (link here-have lost) who have had their policies cancelled to keep what they had – and further, will she tell State Insurance Commissioner Kreidler that he is wrong to stand in the way of her and the President keeping their promise.
