The Daily Shift – September 22, 2016

Seattle labor unions are at it again, using a government initiative to fool voters into doing their dirty work for them. Today’s highlight is about how disinformation is driving a city of Seattle initiative aimed at trying to unionize hotels (in the name of safety). False info also led the Tacoma News Tribune to ask whether Pierce County voters might remember – when deciding whether to support Sound Transit’s Regional Proposition 1 this November – that in the last transit initiative the county was promised facilities that have not yet been built, and are still years away.

And in a pair of shocking news stories, Shift points out that the Sierra Club is launching a new “campaign”, aimed at using its influence with liberal politicians to try and drive up energy costs for Washingtonians. Meanwhile, on the Seattle City Council, it turns out that getting elected isn’t the hard part, it’s getting along with your colleagues.
