Welcome to the end of the last week of summer, and another of our Friday Funny reviews of Jay Inslee’s calendar of work. The “green” governor actually managed to put in double digits of official business during the week ending August 28 – over 13 hours – thanks mainly to one day in his Olympic office and a half day of flying to Spokane to look at wildfires and talk about the global warming that comes with them.
Olympia is also in the news with a judge’s ruling that the city’s citizens will get to vote on an income tax initiative after all, and potentially set in motion an expensive legal fight on why that would be unconstitutional. Not really unconstitutional, but potentially illegal, is more news about Sound Transit and how it spends taxpayer dollars in ways that “accidentally” help the campaign to help the agency raise our taxes by $54 billion. Finally, because the FBI decided to celebrate the long Labor Day weekend with another document dump on Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, the news that the Democrat’s presidential candidate cited her health as a reason why she can’t really remember many details about her time at the State Department was not exactly comforting to campaign watchers.
Remember, election day is only 67 days away!
