The heat wave over the weekend did little to stop the craziness of liberals trying to raise taxes, as today’s Shift on Sound Transit points out. Not only do Puget Sound’s light-rail bureaucrats want another $54 billion in your tax dollars, but it turns out they are (illegally) using your money to help their friends run the campaign to raise your taxes! And, it turns out, 20 years after Sound Transit first got a good grip on your wallet, that campaign promises and budgeting accurately are not among their strong suits.
But that’s OK by them, because the bureaucrats are just using other people’s money.
In other news, we point out the effort Seattle politicians are putting into passing San Francisco’s as the nuttiest in the land. That is not necessarily a Northwest trend though, as elected officials in British Columbia went the other way, and said maybe raising carbon taxes wasn’t such a good idea (are you listening, I-732 supporters?).
And finally, in national news, the FBI just announced it “found” another 15,000 Hillary Clinton emails – because the woman who wants to be President evidently could not find an IT company that could really delete the emails she didn’t want people to “find”. Of course, the State Department is thinking that maybe it will get around to actually releasing the “found” emails after the election.
Don’t want to mess up the coronation after all.
