Continuing our countdown of the Top Ten underreported stories of the year, today Shift examined our partisan, activist, over-reaching state Supreme Court. Unfortunately for us, the court isn’t content to do its own job – they want to do the Legislature’s job, too!
We also take a look at the four new tax hike proposals Gov. Inslee announced yesterday. Turns out, each one has been proposed and rejected before (multiple times over, for some). Maybe there’s a reason for that.
Finally, your ol’ progressive pal Tom Steyer, the California billionaire, is back with another attempt to “improve” Washington – at least, as he sees it. He’s pouring money into a 2016 cap-and-trade initiative, hoping that voters will want to optionally raise their energy costs. Thanks for thinking of us again, Tom!
