With just days (hopefully) to go before the end of the 2016 legislative session, the lawmakers have not touched Initiative 732, the so-called “revenue neutral” carbon tax. Also, unlike the President of the United States, Jay Inslee does not have pocket veto power. But, that’s exactly what he threatened lawmakers with yesterday. If Inslee follows through on his threat and deliberately vetoes bills, he will have a hard time justifying his actions. So, will House Democrats help him out by dropping their demands for the supplemental budget? And, speaking of Inslee, it appears that our “green” governor’s carbon rule will be recycled instead of thrown away like the garbage it is to everyone but him.
